The birds awoke me since I forgot to put my earplugs in, but
it wasn’t too early to be frustrating.
The two German Shepherds hopped into bed with us to say, “Good Morning”,
and we headed down for coffee and breakfast pizza which was quite
interesting. After weighing myself and
discovering that I have gained 5 pounds since we left, we hopped onto the bikes
for a 5 mile ride and then some walking downtown with Justin and Karlyn. It was nice to get out in the fresh air and
see the water front.
The breweries we wanted to visit in Buffalo were closed, but there was Buffalo Brew Pub, where we stopped for a snack and a cold beverage. Their own beers were not very flavorful, but they did have a good selection of other drafts. Also, Justin’s buddy was the chef, and he gave us extra wings. The wings were VERY good, probably the best I’ve had in Buffalo.

Next, we headed to Consumer’s to pick up some local brews
and I was happy to find Flying Bison brews as well as some others from the
region. Next, it was time to head back
for dinner. Papa Celmer was very
interested to try my baked onion rings, so I made the appetizer with some zesty
dipping sauce…it was a hit! Then came
the feast of Chicken Cordon Bleu, grilled chicken, coleslaw, corn on the cob,
and salad…oh my! Then, for dessert, we
had peanut butter pie with an Oreo crust, strawberry rhubarb pie, and more
pound cake. I better watch it! I am not looking forward to what I am going
to look like at the beach, but it was delicious!
Ty headed to the city with Justin and Karlyn, but I decided
to stay in and watch the fireworks with Papa and Mama Celmer, and to catch up
on the writing of this blog. I have
quite a bit of driving tomorrow, so I think I made the right decision. Ty is really looking forward to the Medieval
Brewery for tomorrow…I hope it’s as good as expected.
We are so grateful to the Celmer’s for their hospitality and
kindness!
